Day 21 - a recipe

Okay. This is one of my kids' favorites, and mine as well. It's a simple and yummy snack.

Puppy Chow

  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 9 cups of Crispix cereal (any flavor)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  1. Combine peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
  2. Microwave for one minute then stir to blend all the ingredients thoroughly. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and stir well.
  3. Put the 9 cups of Crispix cereal in a very large bowl.
  4. Pour the peanut butter - chocolate mixture over the cereal and toss evenly, making sure all the cereal gets a good covering.
  5. Coat with powdered sugar, sprinkling evenly over the cereal and tossing as you sprinkle to cover each piece well.
Side note: If you'd like (this is what I do) after you coat the cereal with the peanut butter - chocolate mix put the the cereal in a big Ziploc bag and pour some powdered sugar in with it and then shake (this is also a good way to get the kids involved, as they love shaking up the bag!) and this gets the cereal evenly coated with the sugar.

How easy is that!? And it's so yummy!

  1. It's a favorite of mine too! I make several batches at Christmas and give them out to the neighbors.
